Meet Kaylee

Certified Nutrition & Weightlifting Coach

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for physical activity and healthy nutrition. I grew up playing any sport my parents would allow me to play. At 14 years old I got my first job at a women's gym called Curves,  as a circuit coach. From then on I knew I wanted to help others achieve their health and fitness goals.

I proceeded my education at Laurentian University where I completed a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Health Promotion. During this time, I discovered my passion for competitive weightlifting. Since then, I competed at a National Level and ranked 2nd best lifter in Ontario (F59). Wanting to share my passion, I got my Weightlifting Coaching certification and founded the Kapuskasing Weightlifting Club in Kapuskasing.

My own experience being a competitive athlete in a weight‐category sport has helped me realize how important it is to fuel your body properly. I have experienced the horrific side effects of fast weight cuts which lead me to hire my first Certified Nutrition Specialist. I couldn't believe how much I was torturing my body by eating so little calories. This experience helped me discover the significant benefits from eating basic, healthy food in the right amount to support my lifestyle. I was able to greatly improve my sport performance, health, daily wellbeing and relationship with food. It’s true, you are what you eat.

Falling in love with the process, I proceeded to become a Certified Nutrition Specialist and further my knowledge in the constantly evolving industry of health and fitness. I love teaching people how to fuel their activity optimally
while also teaching them how this doesn’t mean cutting out the foods they love completely.
